A Christmas Thank You

21 December 2015

As an employer, you may be considering giving your employees a bonus this time of year, and you wouldn’t be alone.

In fact, many millions of business will be giving out some form of bonus for Christmas this year. However, only 18 per cent of employees questioned in a recent poll said they had received a verbal thank you from their manager.

One4all rewards, who carried out the survey, revealed that ‘only one employee in four feels sufficiently thanked for their work’.  Couple this with the fact that 68 per cent of employees would be loyal to an employer who regularly thanked them for their efforts, it makes perfect business sense – especially when you take into account costs of recruitment and training – to show gratitude to your staff.

Many businesses, yours included, may not be able to hand out bonuses for Christmas, but the bottom line is this: At this time of year a “thank you” in whatever form – large or small – is an invaluable tool.
