Accountancy Firm Attains Green Standard as It Encourages Clients to Go Paperless

06 September 2017

Our recent Green Dragon Environmental Award has been covered in the South Wales Argus.

A Cwmbran accountancy firm has been awarded an environmental standard due to its commitment to going paperless.

Green & Co Accountants and Tax Advisors has achieved Green Dragon Level 4.

Ed Gooderham, Partner, said: “As a company, we feel it is important to understand, monitor and control our impact on the environment. We have been moving towards a paperless office for some time and Green Dragon has been a great way to measure our progression. We achieved level 2 in 2012 and took the jump up to level 4 this year. Not many firms make the jump of two levels in one go; so we’re particularly pleased with our progress as of late.

Green Dragon is structured into five steps allowing organisations to implement a recognised Environmental Management System and demonstrate an environmental credential at a level which is appropriate to an organisation’s’ size and activity.

The paperless move has transcended to clients, with Green & Co implementing a file-sharing software that reduces the reliance on paper and postage.

Mr Gooderham continued:  “Our new online portal, OpenSpace is encouraging clients to move paperless and be aware of their impact. We’re delighted that this environmental standard demonstrates that we are certainly practicing what we preach in our bid to move away from paper and towards online.”
