Accountancy Firm to Host ‘Marrow for Marley’ Drop-In Session
The South Wales Argus has covered our upcoming Donor Recruitment Event.
Cwmbran-based accountancy firm, Green & Co, is hosting its own drop-in session to encourage people to register as blood stem cell donors in response to a local campaign, Marrow for Marley.
Marley, aged six, was diagnosed with a rare life-threatening condition called Severe Aplastic Anaemia (SAA) and needs a bone marrow transplant in order to save his life. SAA is a condition where bone marrow does not produce enough blood cells for the body’s needs.
Speaking of the drop-in session, Ed Gooderham, Partner at Green & Co, said:
“The idea came from staff member Katie, who had already signed up to the donor register last year. We were inspired by her actions, and agreed to give our staff and friends of the firm the opportunity to sign up for the Marrow for Marley campaign.
On 9th July, we are welcoming everyone to our offices at Pembroke House on Llantarnam Way in Cwmbran, where they will have the chance to register. Registration is a safe, quick and painless process, and we hope to see many prospective donors coming forward.”
The drop-in session is being held on Tuesday 9th July between 10am-4pm at Pembroke House, Llantarnam Way. For more information, contact Green & Co on 01633 871 122, follow @Green_and_Co on Twitter or email katie@greenandco.com.
