Anniversary Celebrated with Property Acquisition

24 July 2013

Torfaen-based accountancy firm Green & Co has celebrated 20 years in business with the acquisition of Pembroke House based in Llantarnam Park Way, Cwmbran.

The new premises, situated close to junction 26 of the M4, sees Green & Co take ten of the 27 offices in the 8,000 sq ft property with the remaining 17 rented out to other businesses; thus creating one of the largest commercial hubs in Torfaen.

The privately-owned firm was founded by Hugh Green in June 1993 and he was soon joined by Nick Park in 2006. Ed Gooderham joined the firm after Mr Green’s retirement.

The business has grown strongly since it was first formed and now has a large number of corporate and agricultural clients across South Wales.

Mr Gooderham said: “Pembroke House was too good an opportunity to miss. Its location, quality of offices and size presented us with a real opportunity from which to further grow the business.”

“We have experienced consistent annual growth since the first year, despite the current economic conditions, and are adamant that our new headquarters will provide us a platform to achieve and surpass our targets for the next 20 years.

Green and Co currently serves more than 600 business clients – more than half of which are farming clients.

Nick Park, 51, heads up the farming division and said: “Advising agricultural businesses is a huge part of what we do. My family have been farming in South Wales since 1901, so it’s in my blood.”

I still run the family farm, so I understand the important tax and succession issues that farming families face.”

“We have a huge wealth of experience in our team to help farmers get the most effective tax advice and guidance on how to run their businesses. It has been at the heart of Green and Co for two decades, and will continue to be integral to our business here at Pembroke House.’’

Mr Gooderham, 35, said: “We see ourselves as business advisors as well as accountants.”

Due to the firm’s longevity, we have developed a wide array of contacts in South Wales who are able to help businesses get the best out of their activity.”

Green & Co, which is regulated by Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, draws on its agricultural and commercial expertise to offer accountancy, bookkeeping and tax advising services to businesses across Wales and the South West of England.
