How to Set up a Personal Tax Account

To set up your Personal Tax Account, you will need to do the following:
- Go to https://www.gov.uk/personal-tax-account
- Click start now
- Sign in with your Government Gateway ID
- Choose how you would like to get an access code – Text or via the HMRC authentication app.
- Choose how you would like to get your legal notices, penalty notices and tax letters.
This account will give you quick and easy access to update HMRC day or night. Saving you from having to write or call.
