Lockdown Non-Domestic Rate Grant
The Welsh Government has launched the Lockdown Non-Domestic Grant as part of the Lockdown Business Fund to help businesses survive the economic consequences of the national firebreak lockdown.
There are two different categories of support.
Retail, leisure or hospitality businesses that occupy a property with a rateable value between £12,001 and £51,000
If you have been forced to close due to coronavirus restrictions, you may be eligible for a grant of £5,000.
The primary operation of the business must have closed. If you are providing food delivery or takeaway and service and this is not your normal primary income source, you will still be eligible.
Businesses who have Small Business Rates Relief (SBRR) with a rateable value of up to £12,000
All businesses who fall into this category will have access to a grant of £1,000.
If you have been subject to local restrictions for 3 weeks up to 23 October and your turnover has seen more than a 50% reduction you will be eligible for an additional £1,000 grant.
There will also be a discretionary enhanced grant of £2,000 for those who are forced to close because of the firebreak lockdown.
To be eligible for these grants you will need to have been on the Non-Domestic Rate rating list on 1 September 2020.
You will not be eligible for this grant if you have received the Lockdown Discretionary Grant.
The same ratepayer may only receive the grant for a maximum of two properties in each local authority.
