Reminder Of Pesticide Use Changes Imminent

18 November 2015

As a reminder, from Thursday 26th November, those using plant protection products (PPP) for professional use, on their own or on their employers land, must have a certificate of competence.

Previously, an exemption in UK law meant that any individual born before 1965 was allowed to use PPP’S without a certificate.

It is recommended that you should alternative options before carrying out spray activities, and where possible adopt changes. Note that all contaminated material needs to be treated and disposed of appropriately, as it may be classed as hazardous waste.

For further advice on the disposal of hazardous waste please contact to Natural Resources Wales (NRW).
