Xero is a cloud-based accounting software which offers some particularly useful online tools for maintaining an efficient bookkeeping system. One of the joys of this package is being able to access your financial information from any mobile device, meaning that you can review or update your records anytime and from any location – even while walking your dog! It also includes a live feed from your bank account, making recording your transactions more accurate and reconciling your figures much easier.

Xero also has an integration feature for your receipts and invoices, meaning you can instantly upload an image of a document and attach it to the relevant entry. This is particularly useful when you or your accountant review your postings, as the back-up paperwork can be viewed alongside the entries. No more transporting boxes of papers to your accountant’s office or spending hours looking for that missing receipt – particularly attractive if you are prone to losing things!
